After a weird string of events, I have to go to Corpus to take my Network+ exam. That is in exactly two weeks. I feel pretty good. My original plan of May 1st would have been doable, but this just gives me that extra time. If you plopped me down in front of that test now, I feel confidant I would make at least an 80%. But, it is important to not only pass the test, but to make it stick.
During the course of these studies, I have been reading and posting on some internet forums, to help others as they help me. I see quite a few people working more towards the test, and not wanting to learn the material in the long term. At first, I think I might have as be as guilty as the next guy. There is this sense of Certification = money. While that may certainly be true to a point, it will not take long for any employer to realize, that "Sure this guy has a CCNP, but he doesn't know jack!" For the record, I do not think you can get a CCNP and not know your stuff, but you get my point.
So, here is my current timeline for studying up until the test....
May 4th - Chapter 12 & 13. Wireless Security and Authentication and Access Control
May 5th- Chapter 14 & 15. Network Threats and Mitigation, Physical and Hardware Security
May 6th - Chapter 16,17 & 18 - Wide Area Network, Command Line Tools & Software/Hardware Tools

May 9th- Day off!
May 10th - Review - Flashcards, should know port numbers and all command line tools plus all switches
