I planned to have a plan

I like to create plans and studying networking is no different.  Everything just works so much better when you have one, even if you don't follow it 100% of the time, it is great to just come back to it and pretend you never deviated in the first place.  (Think of the Joker/Harvey Dent scene in Dark Knight)

I got my Sybex cisco guide in today and even though I had access to the Cisco Press books, I just feel more comfortable with Sybex.  That is what I used with net+, I like the writing style, and the bonus CD just has little things that makes it easier, like the flashcards.  I tried using the Cisco Press books and even though I was understanding the material it just felt...off.  So, I'll go through my Sybex book, taking notes as I go, doing the chapter exams, written labs and what not.  However, when it comes to any questions or needing extra labs, I'll use the Cisco Press books as a reference/supplement.  At some point I'll get my lab up and running and find a good lab book someone recommends.  Then, practice exams, review and flashcards.

Think I can still make the July 1st deadline?  Honestly I'm not sure. I'm still hoping for ICDN1 in the middle of June and ICDN2 by the end of June.  That bet with Tom is still in the back of my mind but given the workload of the CCNA, I'm not giving it any attention....it just would be nice!  After all, that was the original plan right?
